Our form has been designed to be as simple as possible to complete, and takes most people around 10 minutes to answer the questions – but take as long as you need. You can always save your progress (pop off for a cup of tea ☕) and return to the form later.
Before we begin, we need to ask you three quick questions to ensure that making a Will online is right for you. Please continue…
Step 1 of 11
Step 2 of 11
Please use this section to tell us if you have any children, step-children or if your partner has any children. We need to know about them, even if you are planning to exclude any of them from your Will (which you can tell us more about towards the end of this form).
Maximum number of children reached.
Step 3 of 11
Step 4 of 11
An Executor is someone you name to follow the instructions within your Will, when you pass away. They are responsible for distributing your estate to your beneficiaries and your Executor can also benefit from your Will, if you would like them to. You can have more than one Executor if you wish, who can all work together or independently.
Maximum number of executors reached.
Step 5 of 11
If you have children, and both parents pass away whilst they are under 18 years of age, you should name Guardians to take care of them for you. The Guardians can be named in your Will. If you have any specific ways in which you would like your Guardians to raise your children, you could write these in a signed ‘Letter of Wishes’ to them, which you can produce and keep with your Will.
Step 6 of 11
In this section you can leave a specific gift of money to an individual. If you choose not to leave a gift of money to someone, your money and possessions will all come together and will be distributed to your beneficiaries in the upcoming ‘Residue Estate’ section. If you would like to leave a gift of money to Charity, do not enter the details here – there will be a section coming up for this.
Maximum number of money gifts reached.
Step 7 of 11
In your Will you can leave a gift of money to Charity. If you would like to leave a gift of money to Charity, you will need to enter the Charities name and also their registered Charity number (which can be found on the Charities website).
Maximum number of gifts to charites reached.
Step 8 of 11
In your Will you can leave a specific item to an individual. If you choose not to leave a gift to someone, your money and possessions would all come together and will be distributed to your beneficiaries in the upcoming ‘Residue Estate’ section.
Maximum number of specific gifts reached.
Step 9 of 11
The Residue is everything you own (excluding any money or gifted items you listed earlier in this form). Your remaining Estate comes together when you die and is distributed to your chosen beneficiaries. The distribution of the Residue Estate needs to add up to 100%. We always recommend adding at least one reserve beneficiary, just incase your main beneficiary(s) has predeceased you.
Maximum number of beneficiaries reached.
Step 10 of 11
In your Will you can specify your funeral wishes. We always recommend telling your family if you have a preference, as the Will may not be seen until after the funeral has taken place.
Step 11 of 11
If you wish to exclude a direct family member (such as a child or step-child) from your Will, you must name them below and not simply leave them out. We would also highly recommend that you produce a signed letter to your Executors with your reasons for excluding the individual(s) and ensure this is kept with your Will (not attached).
Please note: Excluding someone from your Will does not mean they can not contest your Will.
